Electronic publications

Electronic publications
With the spread of PCs was born a new kind of desktop publishing and electronic publications. These are documents that are mainly intended for viewing on a computer screen. For example, digital encyclopedias are often distributed on CD-ROM or on the Internet.
Most electronic publications are created in a regular program for layout, and then use the Adobe Acrobat converted to a PDF (Portable Document Format). This format is supported by virtually all computer platforms Windows and Macintosh, UNIX, and Linux.
In the mid-1990s, pp. desktop publishing systems were used to create Web pages. However, the specifics used in Web hypertext documents HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) makes it impossible to effectively apply traditional layout application-oriented paper. For PSD to HTML are better specialized Web editors.
Modern computer technology offers immense opportunities. Many publishers reference books, for example, go to the CD or Internet publication. Not surprising because you can edit and add new material much easier and cheaper! Already there is the concept of the electronic book, and a lot of people says that paper literature is rooted in the past.
